President of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge visits Jyväskylä

The most powerful sport manager in the world, the IOC President Jacques Rogge visits Jyväskylä in 14th – 17th of June, when the city has the honour of hosting the world’s biggest Sport for All congress. The congress will be the most international congress ever held in Jyväskylä with the list of participants from over 90 countries.
The congress will gather experts from all over the world sharing experiences, newest research results and practical applications. The congress programme covers such themes as different perspectives to Sport for All, the application of different sports for the purposes of Sport for All, the health-related and social effects of Sport for All as well as children’s and adolescents’ physical activity.
The International Olympic Committee accorded to the Finnish Olympic Committee the right to organize the 13th World Sport for All Congress. LIKES Research Center for Sport and Health Sciences together with the Department of Biology of Physical Activity of University of Jyväskylä are responsible for the practical organization of the congress. In addition, the World Health Organization and the General Association of International Sports Federations SportAccord are co-operative partners of the congress.
