Transportation
The Jyväskylä Region can be reached easily by road, rail and air. Jyväskylä forms a crossroads for Finland’s main highways, which has helped it become an increasingly important centre for road transport.
There are 3 daily flights from the capital city Helsinki to Jyväskylä. Using the Pendolino fast train, the journey from Helsinki to Jyväskylä can be accomplished in three hours. The train connections are excellent; there are approximately 18 daily connections between Helsinki and Jyväskylä.
Finland can be reached also by superior-standard ferries from Germany, Sweden and Estonia. The ferries arrive either in Helsinki or Turku, from where there are good connections to Jyväskylä by train.
The Travel Centre rail/coach interchange is located right in the town centre, close to hotels.
Jyväskylä enjoys good transport connections with the rest of Finland and in particular cities close by such as Tampere, Lahti, and Kuopio, which offer a number of interesting cluster tour venues. Jyväskylä is also convenient for trips to Finland’s neighbours, Sweden, Estonia and Russia.

Airport
Jyväskylä airport is a modern airport with high-class facilities.
The biggest international airport is situated in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. There are 3 regular flights daily from Helsinki to Jyväskylä and vice versa. Flights are operated chiefly by the national carrier Finnair. The flight from Helsinki to Jyväskylä takes about 35 minutes and the drive from the airport to the centre of Jyväskylä roughly 20 minutes. Airport shuttle bus takes you to the city center. Taxi to the airport has to be reserved beforehand from number +3581006900.
The nearest international airport is situated in Tampere, a 2 hour drive from Jyväskylä. SAS and Blue1 have three daily connections to Stockholm and two to Copenhagen. Ryanair has four connections to Bremen, Milan, Dublin, Frankfurt, and London each week. Ryanair also has one daily connection to Riga.

City Transport
Local bus services are operated by Jyväskylän Liikenne Ltd in cooperation with the City of Jyväskylä. There are regular bus connections between the hotels and the main venues.
Most of the hotels are situated just walking distance or a short bus ride from the main venues. Thanks to a well-functioning network of public transport there is almost certainly no need in Jyväskylä to arrange special transportation during an event other than airport transfers.
